It’s always easier to spread negativity, talk about how the world will end, and how things will only get worse.
Why? Because it’s quite hard to spread positivity. Imagine you’re trying to say that things will get better when things are in a sad state. Why should anyone believe you?
For one, that’s not helping them reinforce their feelings of doom and gloom - that is, if they’re in distress themselves, and you are talking about positive things - it’s always easy for them to ask you to be in their shoes.
Moreover, if you’re positive, and things don’t get better, people are going to point fingers. But if you’re negative, and things get better, who cares to come back and point fingers at you. They’re just going to think you were being cautious.
Even more, spreading negativity is relatively easy too. Just keep blaming the system, politicians, society, and the kitchen sink. Who cares? Just blame everything except the person who’s listening to your rant. Easy peasy.
It’s always easier to be pessimistic than optimistic, at least with others. But don’t let that get in your way to be optimistic.
